What is functional lab testing?
Functional lab testing helps us move beyond guessing and identify the physiological patterns contributing to your symptoms.
Depending on your unique situation, we may utilize testing that evaluates:
Hormones
Ovulation and menstrual cycle health
Adrenal function and stress patterns
Gut health and digestion
Inflammation
Detoxification pathways
Nutrient status
Metabolism and blood sugar regulation
Rather than simply treating symptoms, we use testing to understand why those symptoms are occurring in the first place.
Common Reasons Women Seek Testing
You may be a good candidate for testing if you are experiencing:
Missing or irregular periods
Post-birth control symptoms
PMS or PMDD
Acne
Fertility concerns
Weight loss resistance
Fatigue or burnout
Anxiety
Digestive issues, bloating, constipation, or IBS symptoms
Hormone imbalances
Hair loss
Low libido
Sleep disturbances
Your testing options
I have been trained through programs to read the DUTCH, GI Map and Serum testing. It is not uncommon to eventually need all of these tests done, but I always suggest starting with either the DUTCH or GI in tandem with serum (blood work) so that we can start to get a full picture of what is going on inside.
DUTCH Test
Unlike traditional blood tests, which provide only a single snapshot of hormone levels, the DUTCH Test measures hormone production, metabolism, and daily fluctuations, offering a far more comprehensive and accurate assessment.
The test provides key insights about:
cortisol patterns + adrenals
estrogen metabolism
progesterone
androgens
melatonin + sleep cycles
minerals + neurotransmitters
gut dysbiosis
GI Map Test
Your gut plays a major role in hormone regulation, which is why hormone imbalances are often linked to gut imbalances. An imbalanced microbiome can lead to estrogen dominance, adrenal dysfunction, and thyroid imbalances. This test provides a comprehensive look at all aspects of your gut health which are likely correlated to other symptoms.
The test provides key insights about:
inflammation + immune markers
harmful bacteria + dysbiosis
digestive enzymes + absorption
short chain fatty acids
yeast + parasites
Testing is not a full treatment protocol. This is the first step in uncovering what's causing your symptoms without having to commit to a 1:1 program first. You will be able to apply your full purchase towards a package of choice if you'd like help implementing your test results.
